On the 13th June at 6.30 am, ExpIndia and Royal Enfield gathered 62 motorbike enthusiasts from across India, Europe and Dubai at India Gate in Delhi. Flagged off an hour later, the bikers set out on their mission: to conquer the highest motorable road in the world, Khardung la. The 14 day expedition covered a distance of more than 2600 kilometres, stretching from Delhi to the rugged Great Himalayan Ranges and back again. The group faced extreme challenges from navigating twisting, rocky roads, to the severe contrasting weather conditions. Reaching Khardung la on Day 8 the bikers began their return to Delhi, completing their trip at 4.30 pm on the 27th June. The expedition was a great success for all involved with ExpIndia successfully coordinating all logistics and planning.
Ashok Tripathi, leader of the tour from ExpIndia commented, "I look forward to offering a wider range of tours for guests to explore the varied and fascinating country of India. These tours will range from 4 day tours to expedictions lasting over 2 weeks. Rajasthan and the Himalayas offer some of the most exciting and exhilarating routes for motor cyclists to enjoy their hobby whilst exploring new environments'.
